Description: Feature Screenplay: Three Old Ex-Cops
Dave, Brian and Ken are retired police detectives. They investigate old, unsolved criminal cases, as part of a circle. When 81- year-old convicted killer Jonathan Floods makes a confession in prison just before he dies, the prison governor and prison chaplain don't believe it - they now believe he was innocent all along. The chaplain, a long-standing friend and police colleague of Brian's phones him and explains what has happened. Brian informs his two friends in The Circle and together they all begin to draw upon previous un-official evidence from when the crime was committed in 1994. As they discover more about the case, they also come face-to-face with some unusual and in some cases dubious characters. They begin to make progress, but then suddenly Dave is found shot dead on a lonely stretch of countryside. Brian and Ken try to find out who might have been responsible, but Brian is approached by someone at Dave's funeral who gives him some information. Without telling Ken fully what he's discovered, Brian leaves England by ferry and goes on a long journey to a Nordic country. He returns with another man, and they begin to look for further evidence in the original murder case. However, only days later they too are found together shot dead on a lonely stretch of Suffolk Coastline. With his two friends now dead, and sure that there is more to the deaths of them and the other victims associated with the 'Floods Case', Ken goes off on his own to re-take the steps his friends took and then find the path that will lead to the killer!
