Description: This work aims to understand how research can contribute to the training of competent researchers who can engage in research practice, making it part of the constitutive training of the pedagogical process. This objective is in line with the main function of the school: to educate, a function based on teaching, research and extension, thus ensuring the training of professionals whose differential is based on their mastery of knowledge. It can be said that, in carrying out the Scientific Journey, the student, when preparing their research work through a research project under the guidance of a teacher, becomes the subject of their own learning; in other words, they carry out the action of learning. In this approach, the Journey aims to transform the receptive subject into an active subject, since research necessarily incorporates practice and theory. The result is, in itself, a challenge: to think about the conditions of possibility for articulating the school curriculum in such a way that it involves the community in the school's research projects.
