Description:

Thomas and Martha ("Patty") Jefferson shared a Revolutionary-era love story. Patty's abolitionist beliefs deeply influenced Jefferson. Her death in 1782 changed his course and may have shaped American history.

Brief description: Roberta Grimes began to write fiction in childhood. Soon after she attended Smith College and Boston University School of Law, she published her first two novels traditionally (Berkley and Doubleday). She found that publication method to be heavily stacked against authors, however, so she wrote thereafter only as a hobby, while she practiced business law as her enjoyable career. Roberta also has studied and taught the afterlife for fifty years, and studied and taught the Biblical Gospels as well; and she has written a half-dozen well-received non-fiction books on both topics. Roberta lives with her husband, Edward, in Austin, Texas. They have three children and eight grandchildren.
