Descriptions, Reviews, etc.

Description: Although America gained its independence from England in 1776, the king continued to treat the young country as one of his colonies. After England ignored many pleas from President James Madison to discontinue its taxes and restrictions, America declared war. Using primary source documents and images, this book covers the reasons for the war, famous battles, and memorable incidents, including the bombing of Fort McHenry, the inspiration for Francis Scott Key's "Star-Spangled Banner".
