Brief description: Lisa Szybura was born in Carmel, California. She currently divides her time between her homes in Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, and McCall, Idaho. Lisa finds joy in the simple pleasures of quilting, the warm art of baking, and creating memorable adventures at Ponderosa State Park with Zeus and Rivers. She was married to Bill for almost 40 years until his passing in December 2023. Throughout their lives together, Bill consistently encouraged and supported her dreams. Lisa is grateful to her twin daughters, Christina (Beah) and Lindsay, for countless cherished moments of reading together, and to Grace, her precious granddaughter, whose eagerness for "Grandma's voices" infuses Lisa's story time with magic and laughter.

"Moving often means saying goodbye to dear friends and facing the unknown--a challenge felt by all ages. In Rivers, A "Tail" of Family & Friends, author Lisa Szybura offers a touching and original perspective by exploring how pets experience these changes. While children part with playmates, Rivers must leave behind his beloved "pawmates." Lisa convincingly provides the answer in a surprise ending to her captivating story. Her writing captures the sentiment found in Disney's many nature stories about pets.
