Description:

Each chapter of Daughter, Arise shares a classic fairy tale and unpacks it from a Christian perspective, revealing powerful patterns of spiritual truth and celebrating the reclamation of female identity rooted in Christ.

Brief description: At an early age, God gave Autumn a passion for storytelling in all of its forms, especially through acting. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University with a BFA in Theatre and a Minor in English, and has over twenty years of theatrical acting experience. In 2016, she recorded an audiobook for the first time and has been building her repertoire on ACX ever since. In 2024, she became an ACX Approved Producer due to the consistent excellence of her work. Her client roster includes the Poetry from the Heart Team, Global Multi Media Enterprises, and author Emma Easter. With five years of classical vocal training and a lifelong love of books and storytelling, Autumn brings a unique, warm, engaging, and authoritative sound to her work as an audiobook narrator. Between audiobook projects, Autumn Woods hosts her two podcasts; Lost in the Woods Fairy Tales, in which she reads some of her favorite childhood stories and provides insight on the truths they reflect about female identity and walking with God, and The Warrior Bride, which discusses those themes directly through stories and scripture. When she isn't recording, writing, or editing, Autumn spends her time painting and devouring books. Jane Eyre is her absolute favorite, and she has never outgrown a love of fairy tales, especially various versions of Beauty and the Beast. She has a devoted rescue cat named Nimue (nim-UH-way) who loves being in the middle of any and all projects, and a wonderful, encouraging husband, Trent Stephenson, who is a storyteller in his own right.

As a podcast listener of "Lost in the Woods," I was ecstatic to find out Autumn Woods was releasing a book. "Daughter, Arise" is a great edition to her growing list of content because it allows the reader to take a deeper study into how she parallels godly-identity to fairy tales through scripture. Creating a book allows the reader to take their time and study the scriptures that the stories bring to life. I always challenge myself to pick out the pieces she will analyze against scripture, but Autumn always finds gems that flew right over my head. I think fans of the podcast and new readers alike will appreciate the depth of the insight and revelation that are found in these timeless tales. I also think, it will draw readers to dig deeper into scripture and truly search for their identity in Christ.

In this book Autumn has brought new life to the fairy tales most of us have grown up with. Her retelling and expounding on the stories shows us God's redemption story and how He wants His daughters to see their own lives and their own worth. It is a brilliant work and I can see the lives of so many women I know within these pages, including my own. Autumn has taken a deep knowledge of scripture and womanhood and created a one of a kind guide for women who have lost their identity or confidence, whether by the unfortunate events of their upbringing, the evil negativity of others towards them or their own natural self doubts. I believe this book will be a blessing to women every where and of every generation.
