Description:
When their first pet doesn't work out, children encounter the challenges of owning a new pet and deciding on the perfect one using constructive problem solving. The children and their parents explore other options for pets and learn through observation how to understand and care for domestic and wild animals.
Brief description: I have been a teacher, a Mama, and now a Gramsy. I love children of all ages. I often wrote stories with and for our children and then for our grandchildren. We enjoyed reading them together. Now I am working on publishing some of the stories so that other parents and grandparents can enjoy them with their children and grandchildren. At the end of each story are some ideas for related activities that you might have fun doing together.
Review Quotes:
Discovering the challenges of owning a new pet and deciding on
the perfect one are clearly presented in this delightful family story
and constructive problem solving occurs when the anticipated pets
do not work out. As the children and their wise and loving parents
explore other options, everyone learns through observation how
to understand and care for domestic and wild animals. To quote
Papa, "When you do what's right, things work out in the long
run, even when it doesn't seem like it at first."
This first chapter book is perfect for any child who loves animals,
owns one, or wants one and would be a good choice for an early
grade school assignment book report. The sentences and dialogue
are short enough for a child reading alone to understand and
enjoy.
