Description:

This Myra Menville's first book, AND THEN THERE WERE TEN. It is a true love story about a woman who came from a privileged family with thirteen siblings, meets the love of her life on a blind date, breaks her engagement to one of the Gettys, and marries this man David Loker a year later.
The first child was born nine months after the honeymoon (my mother) and over a period of time, and then there were ten!

There are wonderful stories about New Orleans culture and the diversity of the ten children. She ended up wearing her son's football sweater to keep warm, but loved that man til the day he died, proving love conquers all. She traded wealth for true love and her life was a testament to what is really important.

Brief description:

Myra Menville is an enthusiast who enjoys the arts, bridge, gardening, travel, dance, chocolate, and anything creative. She has three sons, six grandchildren, and is a die hard New Orleanian who has spent a large part of her life enjoying the benefits of Audubon Park uptown. Her favorite hobby is raising Monarch butterflies, which she has been doing for the last thirty years. She credits her mother and her Sacred Heart education for her love of writing. This is her first book.
