Description: "Step into the scandalous corridors of Urdu dailies and showbiz periodicals, leaving your shame behind. In these 9 gripping essays, Khurshid Alam escorts readers into the shadowy inner sanctums of Pakistan's esteemed film heroines, unveiling their clandestine love affairs, closely guarded secrets, and unspoken battles. Alam's work transcends the realm of mere salacious whispers; he daringly strips away the lustrous facade of Pakistan's film industry, Lollywood, and taps into its hidden workings. He adeptly weaves the fluctuating personal and professional trajectories of these heroines with their socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, thereby shedding light on the often under-reported personal histories of Lollywood's leading ladies. "True Colors of Filmic Fairies," faithfully translated from its original Urdu title "Filmi Pariyo Key Par Purzey," is an essential read for devotees of Lollywood, film buffs, and those keen on discovering the varnished and unvarnished truths hidden beneath the gloss of the silver screen"--From publisher's website.
