From September 2023 to April 2025, photographer Tanya Marcuse (born 1964) documented the slowly decaying corpse of a deer in the woods. Through her various subtle interventions including the use of fire, these images transform from a chronicle of decomposition to a metaphysical reabsorption into the universe.
