Brief description: Laura E. Carey, known as Ellen, was born and raised in Albemarle County Virginia. The youngest girl of twelve siblings, Ellen worked for forty-three years in daycare, twenty of which she worked as a home daycare provider. Ellen has cared for numerous children and families, and she has always believed that children learn through imaginary play and hands-on experiences. Her dream has always been to write and publish children's books to entertain kids in their early years. She is also the author of My Magical Pockets.
