Brief description: During the daylight hours, author Tammy Battaglia is a doctor, a pathologist to be specific, who enjoys looking at what makes all living things tick from the inside out. She grew up in Kansas next door to Toto and Dorothy, where she raised three children (all human) with her high school sweetheart. She recently retired from twenty-plus years of mainstream medicine, to explore what her imagination believes it could be.When night falls and the moon rises, she can't help but imagine and write about the science that would make what others believe to be mythical, well...real. Just because current science can't explain them doesn't mean they can't exist. She encourages readers to indulge her inner mad scientist and look below the surface.Dr. Battaglia is the author of the Elizabeth Ramsey, MD series, including Vampyre Hypothesis, a Global Book Awards Bronze Medalist.
Review Quotes:
The creative medical explanation for vampires was brilliant, and the chemistry and desire was palpable.
What a unique approach on a timeless tale. I love vampire stories and this one was a good one. A fun fast romp I found hard to put down.
This first book in a series lays out a scientific scenario for vampirism that is intriguing, and the science is totally believable. Loved the book. Highly recommended.
Great read! Very original. Love the medical information sprinkled throughout. Unlike any other vampire novel.
I love that this book combines wild and engrossing thriller elements with slow burn romance, vampire lore, and science fiction...but is it REALLY fiction?
With a robust background in modern medicine the author is able to bring all of the lore of a vampire, from their fear of the sun to their ability to turn others into their kin, together into an enthralling background that both satisfies feasible medical explanation while remaining faithful to Bram Stoker.
Never did I ever think I would read a book like this. Never did I ever dream I would be so excited to get back to it. I don't want to put it down.
If you like a little romance with your Vampire stories you'll love this book.
