He is the author of Russian Culturosophy (1999, in German), Vladimir Sorokin's Discourses (2020) and Polish Postcolonial Literature (2020, in Polish), and serves as President of the German Association of Slavists and coeditor of Zeitschrift für Slavische Philologie.
