"Cozy Mystery with Witchy Vibes" - The_Smutty_Professor
This was such a fun and quick read! Dying for a Little Charm had just the right mix of magic, mystery, and small-town drama to keep me invested. Lilliann's return to her hometown after being left at the altar felt heartbreaking, yet hopeful. Watching her rediscover herself and start to rebuild her life, and her place in the community, was genuinely lovely. The town itself has that cozy, lived-in charm you want from a story like this, and the side characters were well-written and distinct. I especially appreciated how the story handled Lilliann's complicated relationship with Maddison. Their arguments didn't feel shallow or forced- they stemmed from a history of bullying and hurt, and I found that really relatable. It's not easy to just "move on" from how people treated you when you were younger, and the book didn't shy away from showing that. The magical elements added a fun twist, and the murder mystery kept me guessing all the way through. My only real complaint is that I wanted a little more development between Lilliann and Alec. You can tell there's a history and unresolved feelings there, but the nature of the investigation made it hard for anything romantic to unfold. Still, the door is definitely left open, and I'm hoping we see more of that dynamic in the next book! Overall, this was a solid cozy mystery with heart, a little magic, and a touch of second-chance hope. A great palate cleanser when you're in the mood for something charming but not too heavy.
