Description: When the thought of developing this work from multiple messages given when encountering those who are incarcerated and other public speaking engagements into a written form in a way that it would be useful to the reader, I was overwhelmed by the flood of information that I possessed concerning this topic. Reflecting over my life I realized that I had always been defined by someone else's expectations, opinions, beliefs, their boxes and perceptions. Today I realize through the challenges of life, the obstacles placed before me (most of them by myself), the trials and the tribulations faced, the encounters with life controlling situations and life on life's terms qualified me to speak to this subject from the thirty nine plus years of lived experiences I have had and am having on both sides as an experienced reentry specialist/recovery coach and consultant.I often questioned God as to why my life had to take such twist and turns. I wondered why things were the way that they were. With all that is within me, why did my life have to take the course that it had taken? That's right I questioned the God of the universe, the great I AM. Besides where was I going to get the right answer from? The great, almost impossible question to answer of "Why" often resonated throughout my very being. "Why am I here?" "Why did this life Choose me?" "Why are things the way that they are?" "Why am I not living up to the potential within me?" WHY, WHY, WHY I would have you to understand that the simple answer that came to me as to why my life was the way that it was is because of choices that I had made and am still making in my life's journey. My present situation is a direct result of choices that I had made earlier in life and in the present. It is because of these choices that I am able to share with you my experience, strength, and the Hope of Glory Jesus the Christ.
