Reading Strategies add purpose to and for reading. We go from learning to read to reading to learn and reading strategies help us to process what it is that we read. Notice that both of these words are verbs which means they are action words. This leads us to understand that the more active that students are in the reading process the more successful they will be in their endeavors, and it will also grow their desire to do so.
