The Bridge in Between tells the story of Min-Hwa Cheng Kennard's remarkable life. From her birth in China's wartime capital, Chongqing, to her upbringing in Taiwan, her move to Europe, and ultimately her retirement in the United States, Min-Hwa offers a unique look at geopolitics in the 20th and 21st centuries and the changing social values through the lens of a young woman. Traveling halfway around the world to pursue her dreams, Min-Hwa not only succeeds in her aspiration but also embarks on a journey of self-discovery and reconciliation. Sharing unique insights into her cultural background and how she learned to navigate conflicts between different value systems, she artfully demonstrates how to realize one's potential.

Throughout twenty-eight chapters, Min-Hwa captures the highs and lows of life3/4from the joy of her marriages and the blessing of children and grandchildren to her heartbreak and grief after the loss of her mother at the age of fifteen, the loss of her first and second husbands, and the loss of a child3/4, and her extraordinary story of resilience and hope is both heartwarming and inspiring.
