Description: The story concerns Kate, an American lawyer working in outback Australia, when she learns of her father's suicide in New York. Kate returns home, assumes control of his worldwide mining empire, and inherits his vast fortune. She vows to find out the person responsible for her father's suicide and take revenge. The most likely candidate is Mike Kellar, an acquaintance of her deceased father, Seamus. To that end, Kate purchases Ibis Cay, a private resort island off the coast of Belize in Central America. She hires a heavy private investigator and a well-qualified (though disgraced) legal team. The legal team comprises a judge and two attorneys. She also purchases a guillotine, and when Mike is found guilty, she vows to execute him.
Kate hires Ed Kingsley, PI, and ex-Green Beret, to take charge of the investigation. Kate sends him around the world to gather evidence. The trip takes him to Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, where Seamus and Mike spent time together as students, to Eastern Europe and Africa.
What gradually unravels during the trial is a tale of lifelong evil on the parts of Mike and Seamus: murder, drug trafficking, and sex-slave trafficking.
