Description:
When two sisters are abducted in broad daylight, a quick-witted female sleuth and her protective K9 hunt down the Moldovan mafia in this fast-paced, contemporary women's mystery.
A missing bag. A desperate plea. Two sisters taken in broad daylight.
Private investigator Ronnie Lake didn't plan to dodge an aggressive cab driver, causing a bicycle crash, or infiltrating a Moldovan oligarch's penthouse before noon. But when the bike messenger she sent sprawling begs for help, Ronnie can't walk away.
The messenger, Sam, swears her best friend, Marissa, is in trouble. She needs Ronnie to grab a worn blue canvas bag from Marissa's high-security penthouse, and she insists Ronnie not call the police.
Inside, Ronnie finds the place ransacked, with chilling signs of a recent struggle. Two men return to keep searching while she's still there, so Ronnie snatches the bag and escapes down the stairwell.
Outside, reunited with Sam, Ronnie watches helplessly as Marissa and her ten-year-old half-sister are forced into a van. Sam finally dares say the name behind it: Maxim Popov, Marissa's father--Eastern European mafia. Now Ronnie is chasing a trail that leads to a brutal trafficking pipeline, where women vanish and fear keeps everyone silent.
Traffic is Book 4 in the Ronnie Lake Mysteries, a female sleuth mystery thriller packed with twists, urgency, and hard-hitting suspense.
