Brief description: James L. Patterson, Ph.D., C.P.M., A.P.P., is Professor Emeritus of Supply Chain Management (SCM) for the School of Management and Marketing in the College of Business and Technology (CBT). A Michigan State University Ph.D. alumnus in SCM, he holds lifetime Certified Purchasing Manager and Accredited Purchasing Practitioner credentials from the Institute for Supply Management. He served as President of the Quad-City Foreign Trade Zone #133 and was honored twice as CBT's Outstanding Teacher of the Year. He has also been listed four times in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers." He also received WIU's Administrative Distinguished Service Award while he was CBT's Assistant Dean. He is a long-standing reviewer for the Journal of Supply Chain Management and Editor Emeritus for the Journal of Contemporary Business Issues. His research interests include supply chain fraud, supply chain risk, negotiation and conflict resolution and strategic sourcing.
