Description:
The room keeps whatever you leave behind. Eventually it keeps you.
The Quiet Room at the old library is always locked, because the door sticks. That's what the librarian says. Behind the glass are shelves of labeled things: umbrellas, eyeglasses, a boy's jacket from 1974.
Leave something in there long enough and people forget it was ever yours. Leave yourself, and they forget you.
There is a boy behind that glass who thinks he has been waiting about a week. To get him out, somebody has to claim him out loud, and the only person brave enough to walk in after him is four years old.
Kelly Brothers Rule #1: Never leave your brother behind.
