Brief description: Ross Bowden is an Australian cultural anthropologist. His main interests are in the art, religions and history of societies in the Sepik River region of northern Papua New Guinea. He has published four books on the Kwoma of the middle Sepik (including a dictionary) and one on the neighbouring Kaunga-speaking Yalaku. His two most recent books are Art and Creativity in a New Guinea Society: The Kwoma in Cross-Cultural Perspective (Lexington Books, 2022) and The Yalaku: History and Warfare in the Middle Sepik (Sean Kingston Publishing, 2023).
