Description: This summer is not meant to be a good one for Frederick - he has to make up his math and Latin exams, so he can't go on vacation with his family. Not only does he have to stay at his strict grandfather's house, but he also has to concentrate on his studies and work. Luckily, he has his sister Emma and best friend John to keep him company, as well as Betty, who wears a bathing suit that sparkles with the green of a glass bottle. Over the course of a few weeks, Frederick has experienced everything-friendship and fear, respect and trust, love and death. It was a summer that would affect him for the rest of his life. ...... ︎It was probably one of the few summers in life. I think everyone has had a summer like that; In one night, everything was no longer the same.
