Description: American-born teenager Sammy, with the mystery of his birth and the desire to find his birth mother, travels to the small town of Freshwater, where the river meets the sea, to live with a group of unrelated people, including a puppy named Sammy. The only clue to finding her relatives is a letter written by her birth mother, but while every word in the letter seems to be related, the meaning of the letter is confusing. In order to solve the mystery of the letter, Sammy decides to take classes at a summer camp to improve his Chinese language skills, but he accidentally makes a group of friends of similar ages, and even the puppy, called Wave, becomes Sammy's best buddy. With only one summer left, can Sammy solve the mystery of his birth and find his birth parents? Or will he find more than he ever imagined?
