Description: Since more than a decade eco-industrial parks have been regarded as the prototype of eco-industrial development and of so called industrial ecosystems. The co-location of cooperating companies facilitates the integration of material and energy flows, thereby reducing emissions, waste and production costs and, as a result, increasing resource efficiencies. This book shows the differences between industrial park developments in Germany and in China and provides an overview of scientific activities in China geared to supplement and support the sustainable development of industrial symbioses.
