Description: Churches are global player. They act locally and at the same time they are part of a global network. The World Council of Churches (WCC) located in Geneva, for the non-roman-catholic part of the Christian world is the most important international church organization. But it was almost in the 1960s and 1970s, when the WCC took over this global role. In these times more and more churches from the Third World became part of the WCC and shaped a different face of the ecumenical organization. This also changed the subjects that the WCC dealt with.
