The intellectual theoretical work after 1933 reflected the pressure of expectation to meet the collective wishful thinking for a reorientation. The author focuses attention on theoretically sophisticated texts of Protestant theology. In detailed analyses it is shown how familiar traditions of thought could be reconciled with the receptiveness for the authoritarian leader state.
