Description: The history of the Church and Christianity since the end of the First World War is increasingly moving into the focus of academic and public historical interest. Within the framework of a four-volume, handbook-like overall presentation of contemporary ecclesiastical history, this second volume offers an overview of the diverse and strained relationship between Protestantism and the National Socialist state in ten chapters (including politics, theology, education, culture, diaconia and Judaism). The book, which has been vividly written by academic experts, offers a profound historical basis and opens up perspectives for understanding church history throughout the entire 20th century.
