Ulrich Kortner bekam 2016 das Ehrenkreuz fur Wissenschaft und Kunst I. Klasse der Republik Osterreich verliehen und ebenfalls 2016 von der Osterreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften den Wilhelm-Hartel-Preis fur sein Gesamtwerk.
