Description: In the first half of the seventeenth century, a large number of plays took their inspiration from Spanish or Italian works. One of the most prominent figures responsible for adapting works in this period was Antoine Le Metel d'Ouville. This work includes two comedies inspired by Perez de Montalban, and two plays drawn from the Italian stage.
