Description: This work studies the life of Etienne de La Boetie and his role in the Bordeaux Parliament in the years 1556 to 1563, the years of his friendship with Montaigne. He had already written his Discours de la servitude volontaire, for which the content, publication, and successive editions, up to today, represent the object of research for this book.
