Description:
Since 2021, Jack Mitchell has published a short daily or a long weekly poem in The Hub, the fastest-growing new media outlet in Canada. Here for the first time, Hub readers and poetry lovers can and the best of Jack's poems collected in a handy volume. From biting epigram to touching lament, from cultural commentary to nature poetry, The Poetical Hub has something for everyone. In the Roman poet Martial's words (Poem #99),
All Rome agrees my book is grand,
They love it and they quote;
In every pocket, every hand
Are verses that I wrote.
See how the reader pales and stares,
Blushes and gapes and foams:
My own reaction's just like theirs:
At last I like my poems.
