The long ending. Shams gets the man, survives the earthquake, then watches everyone marry while he springs his friends and not himself. Benazir is shot. The crushes spin faster and mean less. His family turns on the life he refuses to surrender. After six years and more than two thousand nights at the keyboard, there is a knock on the closet door. The diary stops mid-sentence.
