Description: She was determined to remain a spinster-until love gave her a new reason to dream.
Lady Eugenie Drayton is tired of being told what she can and cannot do. Bold, clever, and entirely too curious for Society's liking, she decides to take matters into her own hands by sneaking into an Oxford lecture disguised as a man. But her plan is swiftly upended when she is discovered by none other than Charles Ellsworth, Earl of Bedford-a man far too proper, far too persistent, and far too memorable, especially after the kiss they once shared. Charles has spent the past few months trying to forget the infuriating and enchanting Lady Eugenie. He appreciates her desire to learn more than Society believes acceptable. But when he finds her where no lady should be, he's forced to intervene. Reluctantly, they strike a bargain-one that forces them into close proximity and threatens the fragile walls around both their hearts. As their partnership teeters on the edge of scandal and something far more dangerous, Eugenie must decide if she truly desires a life of independence...or the kind of love that would change everything.
