Based on B.F. Skinner's book Walden Two, many of these egalitarian communes dotted the Americas. Literally, tens of thousands of people visited communities in the Federation of Egalitarian Communities, and thousands more lived in one of these communities. Twin Oaks in Virginia and East Wind in Missouri are still in existence today.
Why did Richie Graham join Dandelion? "After reading Walden Two and studying behavioral psychology, I was ready for a change. For far too long I had felt like a 'cultural mutant.' At Dandelion we often referred to ourselves as 'cultural mutants' mostly in a lighthearted way, but there was some truth to it."
Brief description: Rich Graham is a behaviorist who lived his dream of building an egalitarian community for six years. He now lives and works in Vermont. In his spare time he writes and hikes in the Green Mountains.
