Description: This book is an epic love story set in the time of Nero and Christian persecution. Quo Vadis (where are you going?) - is a usage of the phrase that refers to the Christian tradition. It refers to the apocryphal Acts of Peter (Vercelli Acts XXXV), in which Peter meets Jesus as he is fleeing from likely crucifixion in Rome. Peter asks Jesus the question" Quo Vadis?"; To which Jesus' answer is, "I am going to Rome to be crucified again" (Eo Romam iterum crucifigi), prompts Peter to gain the courage to continue his ministry and eventually become a martyr. The eBook contains the original illustrations of the Altemus Edition (1897).
