Description:
Stephen Harvey's How the Moon Makes a Sandwich book gently and rhythmically takes you on an educational journey, starting with the moon, which controls the tides, and finishing with bread and cakes made with the mill's flour.
Brief description: Stephen Harvey was born in 1947 and spent his formative years reading old fashioned fiction and poetry, a happy time but not leading to huge financial success. In spite of this he married Susan in 1977 and they have three wonderful children. He worked in the shipping industry and for Her Majesty's Customs and Excise, always feeling rather a fish out of water. In 1992 he was licensed as a Lay Reader in the Church of England which gave him an outlet for creative and spiritual thinking. In 2008 he retired and became a volunteer at Trimley St. Martin Primary School where he found true job satisfaction for the first time. Sixteen years later, he is still there teaching Year 6s about traditional poetry which encourages them to learn by heart and recite. Around 2015 he became an occasional guide at the Woodbridge Tide Mill.
