Brief description: Robin Givhan is a staff writer and the Washington Post fashion critic. Her work has appeared in Harper's Bazaar, Essence, Vogue, New York magazine, The Daily Beast, and the New Yorker. In 2015 she published her first solo book, The Battle of Versailles: The Night American Fashion Stumbled into the Spotlight and Made History (Flatiron Books). In 2006 she received the Pulitzer Prize in criticism "for her witty, closely observed essays that transform fashion criticism into cultural criticism." Givhan received a Bachelor of Arts in English (Princeton University, 1986) and a Masters of Science in Journalism (University of Michigan, 1988).
