Description: Historically, ethnohistorical and archaeological research have seriously underestimated the extent to which native peoples made use of the islands in the Gulf of California. This important study shows that at least 29 or the 32 Gulf islands were familiar to these groups, and evaluates the intensity of use of the islands, the particular resources available on the islands, and the time depth for human use of the islands.
