Brief description: Emily was a member of Girl Scouts for 12 years and in her final years she decided to take on the Gold Award. This is the highest award in Girl Scouts. The book she wrote for this project stemmed from the struggles she faced in elementary school while learning to read. She has her mother to thank for helping her get to where she is now. Emily created this book with the help of a team of professionals to make sure this book would be helpful and accessible. As Emily goes into the world and finds her future she hopes to remind people struggling everywhere that they can do hard things.
