Ageing, rather than old people, has received scant attention within healthcare literature. This book addresses this paucity. It explores key perspectives of the ageing process. Ageing and old age are not necessarily synonymous. Ageing is a complex, multi-faceted concept and therefore is explored through three different perspectives: chronological, sociological and physiological. Although the majority of chapter authors are nurses, topics covered in this book extend beyond purely nursing issues.
