Brief description: Julian Stringer is Associate Professor in Film and Television Studies, University of Nottingham, UK. He has published widely on Hollywood, East Asian cinema, international film festivals, and transnational media industries. He sits on the editorial advisory boards of East Asian Journal of Popular Culture, Emerging Media, Journal of Japanese and Korean Cinema, and Screen. He has jointly organized numerous academic/industry events in China, including at the Beijing Film Academy, China National Film Museum, Shanghai Expo, Shanghai Jiatong University, Shanghai Theatre Academy, and the Tudou Video Festival. Since 2019, he has been project lead on an ongoing UK-China animation research knowledge exchange project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Council.
