Dr. Pete James is a specialist in advanced power electronics for EV drive systems and megawatt rapid charge systems. He is the chairman of Power Electronics, Machines and Drives Technology network for the IET. He was previously co-founder and technical director at Lyra Electronics Ltd., developing power converters for the electrification of transport. He holds a PhD in power electronics from The University of Manchester and was chairman of the Automotive and Road Transport Systems Technical Network for the IET. In 2009, he was on the scrutineering and regulation setting team for the inaugural Electric Motorbike TT Race TTXGP and continued in this role for several years taking the championship around the world. Pete is an avid promoter of electric vehicles and has owned EVs for over 10 years.
