Description: I wrote this follow-up book as an ongoing "Tribute" to those brave men and women who served or currently serving in the "United States Lifesaving Service, United States Lighthouse Service, the United States Coast Guard and to "Honor" their families." Each of these brave men/women gave of themselves day in, day out and without reservation. They sacrificed themselves and their own personal safety, to save someone or a group of individuals they never met! Some of these stories have appeared in the Keeper's Log, the Inland Seas Journals, the Lakeshore Guardian Newspaper and the Great Lakes Pilot Newspaper. A few of these stories were also part of my Google Blog "Great Lakes Lighthouse Historian" and others were part of my Google Website "Great Lakes Historian." What makes all of them different from their original beginnings is, the stories have been updated, a few of the service histories have been completely revised and some have been reworked due to new information that was presented to me over the past two years. There is one story in a keeper's life that continues to drag me back to the point I want to know more. I'm interested in his turbulent life and his colorful service history. In some of the other stories there has been new information added because of numerous requests that have come from the original contributor, or family member after their love one have passed or by some new research inquires that came in from other sources. There are a couple of stories in the book that are "Brand New!" Every story tells something about the contributor's his or her life, their careers and in some cases, they talk about their retirement. There are stories of "Heroics," "Sudden Death," "Bad Behavior," and the "Lighter Side" of serving in the United States Lifesaving Service, United States Lighthouse Service and the United States Coast Guard. All the stories are "True" and the contributors held nothing back.
