Brief description: Born in Cheshire, England, Mellor's love of ceramics began whilst teaching in the 70s. After being introduced to porcelain at the University of East Anglia, she studied bone china slipcasting and fell in love with the seductive medium. Mellor moved to Western Australia in 1995, later returning to the UK in 2006 to run a gallery and studio in Ely, Cambridgeshire. In 2009 she closed the gallery to concentrate on her own practice.
