The Lancaster novel is MOONLIGHT AND MILL WHISTLES, winner of ForeWord Magazine's Silver Book of the Year Award. Although Tucker holds a PhD in reading education, she describes herself as "a recovering academic now paddling around in the sweet waters of literary and film art." Her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina is in music with piano and choral emphases, underscoring the fact that fine arts have intermingled in Terry's life since she wrote her first poem at age eight and played her first Back invention on piano at age eleven.
