Description: What happens when someone sneezes so loud that it "rattles the ground and shakes through the trees?" They set off a series of funny accidents that leaves no one in the town of Snaky Creek untouched!

Brief description: Suzanne is a wife, mother of two, and retired businesswoman. She had her first child at 40, took up tennis in her early 50s, ballroom dancing in her late 50s, and is launching her writing career at 60 -- illustrating her belief that you are never too old to start new adventures. She began to write the first draft of Mrs. Mullendeck's Big Sneeze about 12 years ago. Now she is collaborating with her brother David, the artist, on several more children's books through their new company, Pokie Dot Books.

Review Quotes:

"Now, this is a funny book! I can just hear children laughing and laughing when this book is read to them. I appreciated the well-written text and the subtleties in the illustrations....The information and suggestions for questions to promote conversations with children are very resourceful. It's obvious that this brother/sister collaboration is a winning combination. I look forward to more children's books from them. IBPA Benjamin Franklin Awards Editorial Judge. Gold medal winner. "Mrs. Mullendeck's Big Sneeze" is a sheer delight to read.... The accompanying illustrations make each page an adventure, one to be savored slowly as the reader studies every part of the page, delighting in the surprises and creatures to be found everywhere one looks. David V. Hansford's artwork is marvelous. It catches the humor of the story perfectly and somehow manages to pair classic, old-style artwork with some splendid silliness....While this book is ideal for storytime, especially when followed by the More Fun with Mrs. Mullendeck discussion questions at the end of the story, I can't think of a better selection for a new reader to try on their own. The rhyming story is perfectly suited for a new reader, and those eloquent and fun-filled illustrations will make for an unforgettable reading experience for a newbie. "Mrs. Mullendeck's Big Sneeze "by Suzanne Evans is most highly recommended. Jack Magnus. Readers' Favorite 5-star review.
