Description: The first baseball game of the season brings lots of first experiences to a new player. Thankfully, baseball is a team sport, and the Giants are one supportive team!

Brief description: Leo Aquino specializes in art direction, concept art for games, and children's book illustration. He loves collaborating with others to create meaningful and rewarding experiences for people to enjoy and remember.

Review Quotes: This book tells the story of a child's first Little League game and their struggle with self-esteem. After they strike out, they feel useless on the team, but they redeem themselves by catching a pop fly in the final inning. The art is basic and colorful. The main team has bright orange jerseys, and their rivals wear blue hats. Both boys and girls play on the team. The main character is never named or gendered but is masculine-coded with short hair. Sentences are short and written in the present tense. Short sentences are often coupled on the page, laid out like a rhyming book, but this one doesn't rhyme. It ends with a cliche message about teamwork, though the story is ultimately about individual perseverance. VERDICT Despite the capricious teamwork moral, a realistic baseball story is a welcome addition to any collection.-- "School Library Journal"
