Brief description: Karen O'Reilly is from Northern Ireland. She has worked for the UN refugee agency in Uganda, Jordan, the Central African Republic, Kenya, Senegal and Guinea. She has interviewed and reviewed the cases of several thousand refugees from all over Africa and the Middle East, including Sierra Leonean child soldiers, Congolese human rights activists, Iraqi dissidents, Ethiopian military pilots, and Rwandan genocide survivors. She has served as an expert witness in close to one hundred asylum cases in the UK and US.
