He has authored eight poetry collections to his credit in his own mother tongue. 'Putana' the poetry anthology of Odia language has got a new shape in Hindi through translation is a milestone of his carrier. 'The Gate is open' an English version of Dr. Senapati a translated anthology, a great poetic work made by Prof. Jayanta Mohapatra the poet of International repute. Dr. Senapati started his carrier as a poet since the year 1980 and many times represented as a leading poet of the state to attend All India Poets Meet organized by Sahitya Akademy as well as All India Radio, New Delhi. He is also a lyricist approved in the year 1986 by AIR, New Delhi. He is recipient of many literary award like Bhubaneswar Book Fair Award- 1995 for his poetry collections Alaga Ayodhya, Prajatantra Bishuba Milan Jhankar Kabita Puraskar and honored by several literary institutions of Odisha.
